Profile: Rachel works freelance as a harpist dividing her time between solo and chamber recitals, session and orchestral work, playing for weddings and corporate events, and teaching. She has played with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, London Concert Orchestra, English Session Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of India, and European Union Youth Orchestra amongst others. She has recorded with New College and Christ Church Cathedral Choirs, Oxford and has broadcast live on Classic FM with Her Majesty’s Choir of the Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace, and appears on Howard Goodall’s album Inspired. She gives solo concerts for the Bach to Baby series as well as for Live Music Now. More unusual appearances of late include miming in an orchestra for the latest Mission Impossible film, and being filmed for Google’s Inside Abbey Road virtual online tour.
Rachel has played for numerous functions all over the UK, notably at Buckingham Palace for Princess Anne and Spencer House for Lord Rothschild. Other venues include Kensington Palace, Blenheim Palace, Althorp House, Penshurst Place, Highclere Castle, The Gherkin and The Shard; luxury hotels including The Lanesborough, The Landmark and Coworth Park; various livery companies including Merchant Taylor’s Hall, Pewterer’s Hall and Armourer’s Hall; and at clubs including Brook’s, Carlton and National Liberal Club.
