How do you select the musicians?
We work with musicians whose music, approach and reliability we admire. We have known some of our musicians for fifteen years, but in the case of every musician joining us we look for beautiful playing, the right attitude to the profession, reliability, humour and wow factor.
What type of music could we choose from?
It’s a long list! Classical (solo or group), jazz, bands, singing, music from other cultures, brass and military music (such as fanfares), background or performance. Fix a meeting and we’ll go through it with you.
What do you offer in the way of arrangements?
Initial consultation and constant liaison during the pre-event period; effective communication with all parties; clear, reliable and effective administration; site visits where required; and a sensible and clear contract.
Can you help us at short notice?
Yes, almost always.
Can you ensure we have music even if the musician is struck down with illness?
Yes, in most circumstances.
Can we have music outdoors?
Yes. We will advise you how best to arrange this.
Classical music – why should I consider it?

Music that goes with a swing – what if I don’t really know exactly what I want or what it’s called?
Jazz (a word which covers so much different music) gets guests quickly into the swing of the occasion. Allegro Arts has been providing jazz groups to corporate functions for some 15 years now, priding ourselves on the breadth of choice on offer. Whatever style of music your event demands – cool jazz, popular jazz or traditional swing – Allegro Arts represents some wonderful, talented jazz musicians, and we can work with you to choose the right thing.
How much does it cost?
The fee we give you is based on the length of the booking, and each musician gives us a fee based on rates recommended by the Incorporated Society of Musicians (the accepted industry rate). Travel may be added if necessary. You will find fees vary considerably from musician to musician, but we will never offer you a cut price on the grounds of inferior standard, nor knowingly over-charge you. We don’t use students, even though some are extremely good, simply because they lack experience of major events. Using Allegro Arts can actually save you money, as it can save you from booking unsuitable music.
