When Allegro Arts began some fifteen years ago, we specialised in Classical musicians. Then jazz, world music and many other lovely live music grew and grew, and edgy modern jazz music was mostly what we supplied. Now the wheel has spun full circle again: in 2017 there was a marked increase in clients booking Classical.
2018 looks like seeing the huge return to popularity of Classical music at our events. Easily the majority of our bookings so far are for Classical music, the sophistication and delight given by a string quartet, classical duo, harpist, classical guitarist or close-harmony singers.
We are simply grateful that we live somewhere where we can enjoy such a diversity of wonderful music. Happy 2018!

Congratulations from all at Allegro Arts to everyone who will be graduating this July at the university in Egham, Surrey. Allegro Arts enjoy and value a close connection with Royal Holloway, and are proud to supply music including the Fanfare Trumpet team who play such a noticeable role during the week of the Summer Graduations.
Dressed in full uniform and busbies, the gentlemen of the trumpet team announce the various stages of each ceremony, such as the arrival of the graduands, the academic procession, and the invitation to the champagne reception. They have been providing this service for several years and also play for the Winter Graduations in November/December each year, when post-graduate degrees are conferred.
Popular with graduands and parents for photo opportunties, the musicians thoroughly enjoy this opportunity each year to help celebrate the success of the university and its students.
Our treasured colleagues at the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead helped us to capture some gorgeous images of our Harp and Violin Duo in the stunning setting of the Council Chamber last weekend. The photographers from Allegro Arts Photography, assisted by make-up artist Jill, took over 600 images over three hours while the opportunity was there to work with the musicians in such a setting.
Maria (harp) and Fernando (violin) are already familiar with the Windsor Guildhall as they have played there already for both weddings and corporate functions, and we are going to share the images with the Guildhall so that everyone can see the beautiful effect of this duo in the historic chamber.
The Windsor Guildhall is the perfect venue for memorable events. To enquire about the Harp and Violin Duo for any occasion please use our quick contact form.
Increasingly popular for events of all kinds is Chinese Music. We have for a long time been able to offer a variety of musicians, and are delighted to introduce harpist Fontane, who plays a Harlem classical harp which gives excellent depth and volume, who has a wide repertoire of traditional Chinese music in addition to harp music from the Western tradition.
Fontane can therefore offer an exclusively Chinese repertoire, or a varied programme. She can also bring colleagues playing a variety of Chinese instruments to play alongside her, and she offers several workshop/shows on Chinese music that can be enjoyed as an event or can be audience-interreactive.
Whether Chinese music is a favourite of yours already or something new to explore, consider calling us to talk about how Fontane or other Chinese music could give you a highly memorable entertainment.
Ham House, which belongs to the National Trust, is situated beside the River Thames in Ham, just south of Richmond in west London. The National Trust say that Ham House is unique in Europe as the most complete survival of 17th century fashion and power. In December 2016, our choir London Vocal provided singers to perform traditional and modern carols and festive songs in close harmony by the great front door of Ham House, greeting arriving guests in a truly stylish fashion.
London Vocal, a choir who are part of a renowned London choir, are among our top tips for stunning vocal music for events and venues. Allegro Arts have been working with these singers for several years, and we have been delighted by the rewarding feedback from our clients.
If you are responsible for arranging events at a significant historical venue, let Allegro Arts’ experience be helpful to you, and give us a call to discuss your next event. We have wonderful singers, but that’s absolutely not all we do! Find out what unusual, stylish, show-stopping entertainment we can suggest.
Faced with the challenge of creating a major event in central London, or any major venue, you could not be blamed for feeling you had a difficult task. A solo entertainer, no matter how wonderful, might be dwarfed by the sheer scale of your event, several hundred guests, perhaps a lofty ballroom. Even smaller events, where the guest list includes VIPs used to fabulous occasions, demand significant entertainment, which isn’t easy to find. Allegro Arts is experienced in providing the right thing for such occasions, sure to fill the hall with wonder, excitement and pleasure.
One of our most frequently booked acts is the Ritzy Orchestra, and the fabulous dancers who may also be booked to perform stylishly on the dance floor in front of them. Evoking the balls of Vienna, London and Paris, this orchestra creates an unforgettable live music experience which tops the bill in a luxury venue. Playing at large weddings, balls, special celebrations, formal concerts, and corporate and charitable events, at exclusive venues in the south of England, their repertoire ranges from Viennese classics to English and Hollywood film music of the 1930-1950 era, perfect for really stylish evenings.
As I mentioned, when you book the orchestra you have the option to book their professional dancers, creating a stunning floor show which certainly gives the evening a huge extra wow! factor. So, why not contact Allegro Arts right away to see if this, or another of our feature entertainments, is right for your event? The Ritzy Orchestra have played at Blenheim Palace, the Lansdowne Club and the Royal Horseguards amongst other luxury venues, and their members have worked in the West End and with leading artists such as Katherine Jenkins and Alfie Boe… Book this great British entertainment for your grand occasion!
These days wedding portraits taken in the relaxed atmosphere of any day other than your wedding day are extremely popular. It’s obvious – you are relaxed and happy, you can wear your gorgeous wedding clothes, and create yourselves in any style you want. Whether you go specially to the island of Santorini or simply to the beach at Brighton, this is your chance to take as much time as you need, choose the weather, choose the scenery, and make the portraits unique.
The picture shown here was taken on a beach in Spain in November 2016, completely unexpectedly, when one of our photographers noticed the couple being photographed by a friend (with a mobile phone). The sun was just fading pinkly into the sea, the light was perfect, and he took the shots for the couple before the moment passed, using the fantastic camera and lens that he ‘just happened to have with him’. Actually, he usually has them with him!
Allegro Arts Photography offers couples marrying in 2017 a very special and personal service – a photography session for your Engagement, for Pre-wedding portraiture, or after the wedding itself, to complete your memories of this very special year.

A quartet of Carol Singers brought a festive thrill to an event at Centre Parcs, Elvedon Forest near Thetford on December 2nd, saving the day after the arrangements made earlier by the venue had fallen through last-minute. We worked hard with Centre Parcs and all the arrangements were magically made in two days. Heroic singers from English Consort of Voices leapt on the train and visited this lovely holiday venue just for the evening.
Carols and festive songs recognisable by all are the staple of this seasonal treat, the four-voice group being the number of singers generally recommended by Allegro Arts and booked by our clients. The perfect combination of Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Baritone enables the group to provide full harmony music totally unaccompanied, so this is an ideal Christmas music for both indoors and outdoors.
It is still possible to book carol singers for December. Call 01784 409654 or email email@example.com.
Allegro Arts’ steel pan groups are increasingly popular for both weddings and parties, not to mention big corporate functions in and around London. We also have a wonderful steel pan group based in the Midlands for our clients there. It’s upbeat, happy, smile-raising music which we all need these days! What better way to evoke the sunshine and relaxation of the Caribbean than with steel pans and brightly-coloured outfits and big smiles?
At least 200 different songs can be played by a steel pan trio, but you can make requests before your event and your steel pan musicians will do their best to adapt the song to the pans. There may only be time for 25-30 songs at your party, so they choose your set list with care, and adjust it according to the audience at the time, using their considerable experience. Allegro Arts also provides a fully-supported service as you plan your event.
Book your steel pans with our help and advice. Call for some suggestions 01784 409654, or use either contact form on this website and we will come straight back to you.
