1940s SWING VOCAL TRIO with backing tracks or live backing group
Repertoire: Songs from the Nineteen Forties.
Trained: Creative and Performing Arts at the University of Portsmouth
Profile: Accompanied by their band of Guitar, Drums and Double Bass, or by backing tracks, The Swingin’ Belles offer a unique 1940s vocal performance to delight any period enthusiast, lover of song, or indeed anyone who enjoys excellent entertainment.
The Swingin’ Belles is a classy, sassy and quite unique vocal trio which performs the fantastic swing style of 1940. They are a visual as well as musical sensation.
When ‘Betty’, ‘Dorothy’ and ‘Gail’ found that they had a mutual love and almost obsession with the Andrews Sisters and their impressive harmonies, vocal style and characterful performances, the Swingin’ Belles was formed.
They have performed at the Isle of Wight Festival, West End Live at Trafalgar Square, the Royal Albert Hall, the Ritz and the Savoy, and have entertained audiences of up to 14,000 people. They have produced and promoted their own sell-out tours at such venues as the Portsmouth Guildhall. They also regularly tour France with their band. This year they took a brand new show up to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August.
